General Secretary  UGT

Pepe Álvarez is a Spanish trade unionist, current general secretary of the UGT (General Union of Workers). He succeeded Cándido Méndez on March 12, 2016. He was also the Secretary General of the UGT in Catalonia from 1990 to 2016. In 2021 he was re-elected Secretary General of the UGT, during the 43rd Confederal Congress of the UGT, held May 18 to 20, 2021, in València, obtaining 86% of the votes.
